University of San Francisco Testimonial

TABLE FOR TWO USA launched its San Francisco chapter in the fall of 2010.  Led by two charismatic MBA students, the chapter quickly gained motivated volunteers, holding periodic events including a dinner with handmade posho (a staple food in many parts of Africa) and a global food event on World Food Day, connecting to sites in New York and Japan via live video feed.

In addition to events, TFT’s SF team has been hard at work convincing restaurants, universities and corporations on the benefits of adopting the TFT program.  In April of 2011 the University of San Francisco’s cafeteria – operated by Bon Appetit – launched TFT options on Tuesdays.  The meals have been a hit, with roughly 500 TFT meals sold each day.

TFT’s mission aligns with that of USF’s, of advancing “truth and authentic human development” and “social responsibility in fulfilling the University’s mission to create, communicate and apply knowledge to a world shared by all people and held in trust for future generations.”
