DC Hanami Picnic

The National Mall picnic area by the Washington monument
Come join the TABLE FOR TWO DC Chapter in welcoming spring with a TFT “Hanami” Picnic. We’ll be in the tiny cherry blossom grove northwest of the Washington Monument (see map for details) from 11AM to 2PM (or later!) on Saturday, March 31st [Rain Date April 7].  It is a potluck, so bring your own food or drink item to share with everyone, and bonus points to the ones who keep their snack/drink healthy in the spirit of TFT.
If you wish to test your TFT cooking skills, there will also be a chance to win a gift certificate for a TFT meal at one of our participating restaurants in our ”Healthy Creations” food contest. To enter, please let us know at registration. All items will be judged on their appearance, taste, and balance.
Bring a blanket to sit on, a frisbee to play with, a snack to eat, a friend or two to learn about TFT, and, more importantly, a desire to have fun with TFT under the cherry blossoms.
Register here by March 27th so we know how much space to hold.

TABLE FOR TWO D.C. Chapter Year-End Party

Yosaku Restaurant 4712 Wisconsin Ave, NW Washington, D.C.

Come eat delicious Japanese food and let your opinions be heard!

This month, the TFT DC chapter will host its annual end-of-the-year party in appreciation of our partner restaurants, members and supporters who have worked together with us this year.  This is based on the Japanese tradition of showing appreciation to affiliates by having a party at the end of the year.

But wait – there’s more!

We’re also using this as an opportunity to learn how we can improve, so if you’ve dined at a TFT restaurant, tried a TFT menu item or been to one of our events, we’d love to hear what you think!  This is your chance to give us your feedback and socialize with other DC chapter members.  After the discussion we will enjoy Japanese cuisine from TFT partner Yosaku Japanese restaurant’s special year-end party menu.

Date: Sunday, December 18th, 2011
Time: 3:30pm – 6:00pm
Place: Yosaku Restaurant, 4712 Wisconsin Ave, NW (DC)
(5 minute walk from Tenleytown metro station on the red line)

*Due to space constraints, we are limiting attendance to 20 guests, so RSVP @ tablefor2dc@gmail.com to secure your spot!

What better way to end the year properly than by reflecting and preparing for another stellar year in which we enhance our presence in the District and unite more people dedicated to a “healthy” cause.
