“I am pleased to provide guidance to TABLE FOR TWO by drawing from my diverse expertise in the fields of economy, finance, politics and culture. We are becoming globalized not just economically but also culturally, and to celebrate this bi-cultural sharing of ideas and customs I launched the annual JAPAN DAY in New York which now attracts over 50,000 visitors. As the President of the Japan Society, the largest organization promoting friendship and understanding between Japan and the US, I hope to leverage my experience in the private and public sectors to help expand the Japanese born social business of TABLE FOR TWO in this country. Its message of multicultural health and social action is a new model for people from different countries to collaborate together for a noble cause.”
“TABLE FOR TWO – in a more ingenious way than I’ve ever seen any organization – actually figured out how to say it right… which is, ‘don’t eat everything on your plate, there are children who are hungry abroad.’
Please support this organization, add your creativity, bring in more partners. What’s happening here is so wonderful for us, for the children halfway around the world. This is an ingenious and wonderful way to do it.”
(Columbia University, May 3rd, 2010)
“Innovation and social entrepreneurship will be necessary if we are to begin to solve the intractable problems that far too many people face in the world today. TABLE FOR TWO is the right organization at the right time to take on two of the most intractable problems the world faces – obesity in the developed word and child starvation in the developing world. I am honored to serve this organization in an advisory role.”

“There are few things more essential and rewarding than eating well and helping others. Imagine doing both at the same time and imagine it being simple. That is TABLE FOR TWO: By eating well, we help someone in need. How easy and wonderful is that!?
From its humble beginnings in Japan, TABLE FOR TWO is an example of Global Japan: the best Japan can offer to the world. In its own small but significant way TABLE FOR TWO demonstrates leadership in thought and action to a generation of children and future leaders around the world.
I am proud and honored to be a part of a wonderful group of leaders.”
